International Qualitative Research Toolkit & ATLAS.ti Webinar Series: Strategies for Data Analysis Using Networks to Obtain Meaningful Results
Presenters: Julia Gluesing and Ken Riopelle

This webinar will demonstrate two different strategies for obtaining results using the network view in ATLAS.ti to produce meaning and useful interpretation of your coded data. The focus will be on both theory driven and data driven (emergent) findings using real project work. One project was funded by the National Science Foundation to examine the use of shareable learning resources in engineering education using Diffusion of Innovation Theory. The second project is a consulting project that was designed to produce a knowledge base derived from stories that could serve as a resource for product development teams. The projects demonstrate how to use top-down (theory driven) and bottom-up data (grounded theory) analysis in a single project and how to take advantage of the power of ATLAS.ti networks to build “pictures” of the conditions, strategies/actions, and consequences that are patterned and related to different contexts and impact work.

Drs. Gluesing and Riopelle also wish to share the report that was generated from the data they will present. This gives everyone the unique chance to see the results in addition to the analysis that led up to those results, and this provides a great illustration of grounded theory.
